Making Love is a fun, God-designed, and God-given activity that all married Christian couples are called to take part in and enjoy. There is also no reason to delegate love making exclusively to the evening hours. Why not wake up every once in a while and turn your bedroom into a place when you say, "Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine. Your anointing oils are fragrant, your name is oil poured out; therefore the virgins love you. Draw me after you, let us run. The king has brought me into his chambers." (Song of Songs 1:1-4)? This encouraging Bible verse may motivate husband and wife to share intimate time together under a Holy Covenant. "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." (Matthew 19: 4-6)
1) It will help you wake up
Love making is a much better way to wake up than snoozing your alarm clock 5 times. The first few minutes of it will likely start off a little groggily, but you'll quickly kick into gear once you start getting excited. Your body might be a little tired again after you're done, but your brain will be raring to go.
2) You're not tired after a long day
No matter how sleepy you might still feel in the moments after waking up, it likely doesn't hold a candle to the exhaustion you and your spouse both feel after a long day. If you're often too tired to have make love at night, then why not try it in the mornings after you've had a full night's sleep? The difference in your energy and enthusiasm could be the difference between night and day!
3) It affirms your desire for one another
How can you not feel desired by a spouse who wakes up, sees you, and wants immediately to become intimate with you? It's a highly affirming feeling to know that you are the first thing on their mind. Instead of checking your e-mail on your smartphone the moment you wake up, why not check in with your spouse first to see if they are in the mood?
4) You're already in bed!
Love making, no matter how spontaneous it is, always takes a bit of prep work. At the very least you have to take off your clothes and get into bed. The beauty of making love in the morning is that you are already in bed. It's even more convenient if you sleep naked!
5) You'll start your day in a great mood
Making love is one of the most effective ways that human beings have of putting themselves in a good mood. What better way to prepare yourself for the day ahead than by making love to your spouse? Nothing will seem quite as stressful or overwhelming when you take a second to think back to your early morning rendezvous.
If you and your spouse make a habit of starting your day off by meeting in love, faithfulness, righteousness, and peace, then nothing will be able to put a damper on your mood. Give yourself permission to enjoy each other as married couples are meant to by waking up and expressing your love at the beginning of the day.
