1 Corinthians 16:14 teaches us to "do everything in love," and Philippians 4:5 commands that you "let your gentleness be evident to all."

A good mother-daughter relationship can outlast almost anything that the world has to throw at it. It does, however, need nurturing in order to reach its full potential for both mother and daughter. You will always have an irreplaceable bond with your daughter no matter what, but the closeness of that bond can dwindle without the proper care. If you are looking for ways to either reconnect with your daughter or ways to make sure that your relationship stays solid as she grows older, then approach your relationship every day with the following four tips in mind:

1 Set aside time to talk to her every day

Young girls often love their mommy-daughter time, a time when they can chat, share their feelings, and have your attention all to themselves. You can incorporate these chats into playtime when she is little by sitting down and having a tea party with your daughter and all of her stuffed animals. Make sure that you continue catching up with her as she gets older by setting aside time in the mornings or evenings to keep appraised of how she is feeling and how everything is going.

2 Give her more responsibility as she gets older

As your daughter grows older, giving her additional responsibilities will help her feel more grown up and encourage her to become more mature. The trick, however, is not to simply impart her with more and harder chores, but to find ways to involve her in what you are doing. From planning family meals to planning family trips, giving her a small task to carry out can help her feel like she is important to you.

3 Always resolve conflict quickly

Mother-daughter relationships can be a great source of good when they are going right, but also a great source of harm when they encounter too much conflict. The key is to resolve conflict as quickly as you can. Showing your daughter that you are always willing to seek resolution when she is young will help her learn how to step up and reach out to you as well when she grows older.

4 Let your kindness and caring always be evident to her

1 Corinthians 16:14 teaches us to "do everything in love," and Philippians 4:5 commands that you "let your gentleness be evident to all." In no other aspect of your life should these quotes provide you with more spiritual encouragement than in your relationship with your daughter. In all that you do as she grows from a baby to a beautiful young woman, make sure that your interactions with her are always marked by love and gentleness.

Work on nurturing your relationship with your daughter every single day and your close, irreplaceable bond will last throughout both of your lives. It will not matter if your daughter grows up to be just like you or to be completely different, because laying the foundation for a strong relationship while she is just a child can overcome any differences you might encounter later on.

Spiritual Prayer

And Mary said:

“My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is his name. His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts. He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty. He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors.”
